About Rest in Peace

"Play together, Work together, Succeed together. This...is the way of RIP." -Juanaloopa

There is a notion that any guild that isn't raiding four nights a week in end-game content is a "casual raiding guild" or "social guild", filled with low expectations, poor planning and poorly equipped untalented players that just can't get into a good guild, or that want to sit around an animated chatroom and yack.

If that is your impression of Rest in Peace, it would be a faulty impression. RIP is a mature guild, made up of people that have lives outside of World of Warcraft, that enjoy gaming, and that take it seriously when we game.

We have a limited raiding schedule. Two ten player raids a week, and one-twenty five player raid per week. The ten player raids, Zul'Aman, is there to gear our players toons. Karazhan is posted by whoever wants to lead a raid or has time. It is not a guild sanctioned raid. Either through badge gear or drops, ten player raids are the source of our basic gear. They are also a training ground where we practice our raid skills, and work to maximize our output.

The twenty five player raid is for guild progression. You bring your best, and work in a solid team environment. Everyone is expected to know how to play their role, to maximum effect.

Our plan of progression is simple. Enter an instance and do our best. Learn a boss until we win one-shot each time. Move to the next boss, and learn it. Each time we go back ,we repeat what we've already mastered and go on to the boss we're learning, until the instance is beaten.

So to that extent, we're pretty "hard core". We expect our raiders to consistently do a good job, and work to improve each week.

But Rest in Peace is more than a game guild. It's a collection of mature friends. We give (and expect) respect for each other. We expect patience. And, we give and expect friendship. Dissing fellow members in the forums or in open guild chat will nto be tolerated. Dissing someone behind their back will not be tolerated. If there are issues (there will be - life is not some polyanic paradise) we expect the members to work it out between themselves, settle it, put it aside and move on, so we can all game confortably and enjoyably together.

Our plan is to complete SSC, the Eye, and to make a serious effort at Mount Hyjal and The Black Temple before Wrath of the Lich King is released this Winter. But our objective is to have fun in the process.

We have one simple rule. "Don't be a dick". DFNR's (Dicks for no reason) will be /gkicked after one warning. Life is too short, and time is too precious, to spend it hating anything that you will put 6- 10 hours a week into.

If this sounds appealing, talk to one of our members about apping for membership. We are always looking for solid players that either want to move forward in this kind of environment, or that could use a break from the handwringing of end-level play.

If you think you have what it takes to be a member of Rest in Peace, please read this and then fill out an application.
